The same sort of trick can be applied to anything that appears on your screen.
Images and text can deceive and disguise their links
Headers and IP addresses can be forged
To and From lines can be faked
Clicking a No button can trigger a Yes reaction
Clicking close can actually open something
This story is a classic:
These people opened a link in one of our mails and then tried to close it down.
They didn't see that the close button actually closed down some terms and conditions, so they never
found out that they were installing and dialling a £1.50 per minute premium rate number. Result!
