How to Verify info on the internet (continued)

Check the Authors
When a writer tells u who they are and what their position is, then u can run a separate search on this person to check out the rest of their work. U can't do that if they're anonymous.

Check for relevance
Does the site have out of date or broken links? When was it written or last updated?

Check for the copyright © sign
If the site displays a © sign, u will need to ask the owner's permission before u copy any of their material.

Check for opinions
Separating opinions from facts can be tricky, however they are different. Opinions and arguments should be supported by evidence, and the most solid evidence is a fact. Facts are what have happened or exist or are known for certain to be true. An opinion is what is believed to be true or believed to have existed or happened. If a site is claiming that something is a fact, u should double check it... it might be a disguised opinion.

Check for personal experience disguises
Forums are filled with people offering advice. If u know your own mind, it can be fun to read the posts, but they are usually not the best places to get reliable information. Sharing experiences is good, but people can and do make things up online...
